Superconductors

Superconductors are materials that exhibit zero electrical resistance and perfect diamagnetism below a certain temperature, called the critical temperature. In space and astronautical engineering, superconductors are used to create powerful electromagnets for applications such as particle accelerators, fusion reactors, and magnetic levitation systems. Superconducting wires are also used in electric power transmission and storage systems, as they can carry large amounts of current without energy loss. The development of high-temperature superconductors has opened up new possibilities for space applications, such as the creation of lightweight, high-capacity energy storage systems and the development of more efficient propulsion systems.
