Space Motion Sickness
Space Motion Sickness is a condition experienced by astronauts during spaceflight. It is caused by the absence of gravity and the resulting conflict between the visual, vestibular, and proprioceptive systems. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and disorientation. The severity and duration of symptoms vary from person to person, but they generally subside after a few days as the body adapts to the new environment. To prevent and treat Space Motion Sickness, astronauts use medication, relaxation techniques, and special exercises. Additionally, spacecraft design and mission planning take into account the potential for Space Motion Sickness and aim to minimize its impact on crew performance and well-being.
