Solar Wind


Solar wind is a stream of charged particles, mainly protons and electrons, that are continuously released from the upper atmosphere of the Sun. These particles travel at high speeds and can reach Earth's atmosphere, where they interact with the magnetic field and can cause auroras and other space weather phenomena. The solar wind is also responsible for the erosion of planetary atmospheres and the formation of comet tails. Understanding the properties and behavior of the solar wind is crucial for space weather forecasting and for designing spacecraft that can withstand its effects.
