Protons

Protons are positively charged subatomic particles that are found in the nucleus of an atom. In space and astronautical engineering, protons are commonly used as a source of energy in spacecraft propulsion systems. Proton engines work by accelerating protons through a magnetic field, which creates thrust. Proton engines are highly efficient and can provide a significant amount of thrust for a relatively small amount of fuel. Protons are also used in radiation therapy for cancer treatment, as they can be directed to specific areas of the body to destroy cancer cells. In addition, protons are used in particle accelerators to study the properties of matter and to create new materials.
