Radiation Therapy

Radiation therapy is a medical treatment that uses high-energy radiation to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. In space and astronautical engineering, radiation therapy is an important consideration for the health and safety of astronauts during long-duration space missions. Exposure to high levels of radiation in space can increase the risk of cancer, cataracts, and other health problems. Radiation shielding and monitoring systems are used to protect astronauts from harmful radiation exposure. Additionally, research is ongoing to develop new radiation protection technologies and to better understand the effects of radiation on the human body in space.
