Solar Thermal Power Plants

Solar Thermal Power Plants are power plants that generate electricity by using the heat from the sun to create steam that drives a turbine. The process involves using mirrors or lenses to concentrate sunlight onto a receiver, which absorbs the heat and transfers it to a fluid. The fluid is then used to generate steam, which drives a turbine to produce electricity. Solar Thermal Power Plants can be classified into three types: parabolic trough, power tower, and dish/engine systems. Parabolic trough systems use long, curved mirrors to focus sunlight onto a receiver tube, while power tower systems use a field of mirrors to focus sunlight onto a central receiver. Dish/engine systems use a parabolic dish to concentrate sunlight onto a receiver, which is mounted at the focal point of the dish. Solar Thermal Power Plants are a renewable and sustainable source of energy that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on fossil fuels.
