Solar Thermal

Solar thermal is a technology that uses sunlight to generate heat. In space and astronautical engineering, solar thermal is used to power spacecraft and satellites. Solar thermal systems use mirrors or lenses to concentrate sunlight onto a small area, which heats up a fluid that is then used to generate electricity. The fluid can be a gas, such as helium, or a liquid, such as water. Solar thermal systems can be used to power spacecraft for long periods of time, as they do not rely on batteries or other energy storage devices. They are also lightweight and require little maintenance, making them ideal for use in space. In addition to powering spacecraft, solar thermal technology can also be used to heat and cool buildings on Earth, as well as to generate electricity for homes and businesses.
