Solar Cycle

Solar Cycle refers to the periodic variation in the Sun's activity, including changes in the number and size of sunspots, flares, and other solar phenomena. The cycle has an average duration of 11 years and is characterized by a period of high activity (solar maximum) followed by a period of low activity (solar minimum). Solar Cycle is an important factor in space weather, as it affects the Earth's ionosphere, magnetic field, and radiation environment. During solar maximum, the increased solar activity can cause disruptions in satellite communications, power grids, and other technological systems. Conversely, during solar minimum, the reduced solar activity can lead to increased cosmic ray exposure for astronauts and higher radiation levels in the polar regions.
