S-Band

S-Band is a range of radio frequencies from 2 to 4 GHz that is commonly used in space and astronautical engineering for communication and radar systems. It is particularly useful for deep space communication due to its ability to penetrate the Earth's atmosphere and ionosphere. S-Band is also used for satellite communication, weather monitoring, and remote sensing applications. In addition, it is used for tracking and telemetry of spacecraft, as well as for navigation and positioning systems. S-Band antennas are typically parabolic reflectors with diameters ranging from a few centimeters to several meters, depending on the application. The use of S-Band is regulated by international agreements to avoid interference with other radio services.
