PET Scanner

A PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scanner is a medical imaging device that uses radioactive tracers to produce 3D images of the body's metabolic activity. In space and astronautical engineering, PET scanners are used to study the effects of microgravity on the human body and to monitor the health of astronauts during space missions. PET scanners can also be used to study the effects of radiation exposure on the body, which is important for developing radiation protection measures for astronauts. The compact size and portability of PET scanners make them ideal for use in space missions where space and weight are limited.
