Mechanical Systems

Mechanical systems refer to the collection of components that work together to perform a specific function or task in a spacecraft or other astronautical vehicle. These systems can include propulsion systems, power generation and distribution systems, environmental control and life support systems, and guidance and navigation systems. Mechanical systems are designed to operate in the harsh environment of space, where extreme temperatures, radiation, and vacuum conditions can pose significant challenges. Engineers working in the field of mechanical systems must have a deep understanding of materials science, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics, as well as expertise in computer-aided design and simulation. They must also be able to work collaboratively with other engineers and scientists to integrate their systems into a larger spacecraft design.
