Active Noise Control

Active Noise Control (ANC) is a technique used to reduce unwanted noise by creating an anti-noise signal that destructively interferes with the original noise. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, ANC can be used to reduce the noise generated by rocket engines, fans, and other machinery on spacecraft. ANC systems typically use microphones to detect the noise and speakers to generate the anti-noise signal. The anti-noise signal is generated in real-time and adjusted to match the frequency and amplitude of the original noise. ANC can be particularly useful in space where noise can interfere with communication and scientific experiments.
