Low-pressure Environment
A low-pressure environment is a condition in which the pressure of the surrounding atmosphere is significantly lower than the standard atmospheric pressure at sea level on Earth. In space and astronautical engineering, low-pressure environments are encountered in various situations, such as during spacewalks, inside spacecraft, and on the surface of other planets. Exposure to low-pressure environments can have serious consequences on human health, including decompression sickness, hypoxia, and ebullism. Therefore, space and astronautical engineers must design and develop systems and equipment that can maintain a safe and habitable environment for astronauts in low-pressure conditions. This includes designing spacesuits, habitats, and life support systems that can regulate temperature, pressure, and oxygen levels to ensure the survival and well-being of astronauts in low-pressure environments.
