Power Management System


Power Management System (PMS) is a critical subsystem of a spacecraft that manages the generation, storage, distribution, and regulation of electrical power. The PMS ensures that all the electrical systems on the spacecraft receive the required power at all times, and that the power is used efficiently to maximize the mission's lifetime. The PMS includes solar arrays or other power generation systems, batteries or other energy storage systems, power distribution units, and power regulation and conditioning units. The PMS also includes software and hardware for monitoring and controlling the power system, and for responding to power system anomalies and failures. The PMS is designed to operate in the harsh environment of space, where radiation, temperature extremes, and other factors can affect the performance and reliability of the power system.
