Liquid-propellant Rocket Engine
A liquid-propellant rocket engine is a type of rocket engine that uses liquid propellants to provide thrust. The engine consists of two separate tanks, one for fuel and one for oxidizer, which are pumped into a combustion chamber where they ignite and create a high-pressure, high-velocity exhaust stream. Liquid-propellant rocket engines are highly efficient and provide a high thrust-to-weight ratio, making them ideal for use in spacecraft and launch vehicles. They can be throttled up or down to control the amount of thrust produced, and can be shut down and restarted in flight. However, they are complex and require careful handling and maintenance due to the volatile nature of the propellants.
