Laser Receiver

A laser receiver is a device that detects and measures the intensity and wavelength of laser beams. In space and astronautical engineering, laser receivers are used for various purposes such as communication, navigation, and remote sensing. Laser communication systems use laser receivers to receive and decode laser signals transmitted from other spacecraft or ground stations. Laser ranging systems use laser receivers to measure the distance between two objects by measuring the time it takes for a laser beam to travel from the transmitter to the receiver. Laser altimeters use laser receivers to measure the altitude of a spacecraft or a planet's surface by measuring the time it takes for a laser beam to reflect back from the surface. Laser receivers are also used in lidar systems to create 3D maps of planetary surfaces and to study the composition of planetary atmospheres.
