Intergovernmental Organization

An intergovernmental organization (IGO) is a type of international organization composed of sovereign states or other intergovernmental organizations. IGOs are established by treaty or other agreement that acts as a charter creating the group. Examples of IGOs include the United Nations, the European Union, and the International Atomic Energy Agency. IGOs are important in space and astronautical engineering as they provide a platform for international cooperation and collaboration on space-related issues such as space exploration, satellite communication, and space debris management.
