Ignition System

In space and astronautical engineering, an ignition system is a system that initiates combustion of the propellant in a rocket engine. The ignition system typically consists of an igniter, which is a small explosive charge that produces a spark or flame to ignite the propellant. The igniter is usually activated by an electrical signal from the rocket's control system. The ignition system is critical to the operation of a rocket engine, as it must reliably ignite the propellant in a controlled manner to produce the necessary thrust for the rocket to lift off and maneuver in space.
