Hydrogen

Hydrogen is the lightest and most abundant element in the universe. In space and astronautical engineering, hydrogen is used as a rocket propellant due to its high specific impulse and low molecular weight. It is also used as a fuel for fuel cells, which generate electricity through a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen. Hydrogen is often stored in liquid form, which requires cryogenic temperatures to maintain. The use of hydrogen as a fuel source has the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on fossil fuels.
