Helical Antenna

A helical antenna is a type of radio antenna that is commonly used in spacecraft communication systems. It consists of a wire wound in the form of a helix, with the axis of the helix perpendicular to the direction of the wave propagation. The helical antenna is a directional antenna, meaning that it radiates or receives electromagnetic waves more effectively in certain directions than in others. The directionality of the antenna is determined by the pitch of the helix, the diameter of the wire, and the number of turns in the helix. Helical antennas are commonly used in satellite communication systems, where they are used to transmit and receive signals from the ground station. They are also used in other spacecraft communication systems, such as those used in deep space missions, where they are used to communicate with the Earth from long distances.
