Habitat

In space and astronautical engineering, a habitat is a human-made environment designed to support human life in space. It is a self-contained system that provides living space, life support systems, and other necessary facilities for astronauts to live and work in space for extended periods. Habitats can be designed for various purposes, such as scientific research, space tourism, or colonization of other planets. They can be attached to a spacecraft or be standalone structures. Habitats must be designed to provide a comfortable and safe environment for astronauts, protect them from radiation and micrometeoroids, and recycle resources such as air, water, and food. They must also be able to withstand the harsh conditions of space, including extreme temperatures, vacuum, and high levels of radiation.
