Gravitational Assist
Gravitational assist, also known as gravity assist or swing-by, is a spaceflight maneuver that uses the gravity of a planet or other celestial body to alter the trajectory and speed of a spacecraft. This technique is commonly used to save fuel and time by using the gravitational pull of a planet to increase the speed of a spacecraft, or to slow it down and change its direction. The spacecraft uses the planet's gravity to gain or lose energy, which can be used to change its speed and direction. This maneuver has been used in many space missions, including the Voyager missions, the Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn, and the New Horizons mission to Pluto.
