Fusion Power

Fusion power is a form of power generation that uses nuclear fusion reactions to produce heat which in turn creates electricity. It is based on the same principle that powers the sun and other stars. In a fusion reaction, two atomic nuclei are combined to form a heavier nucleus, releasing a large amount of energy in the process. The challenge in harnessing this energy on Earth is to create the conditions necessary for fusion to occur at a temperature and pressure that can be sustained for a long enough time to produce a net energy gain. There are several approaches to achieving this, including magnetic confinement fusion and inertial confinement fusion. Fusion power has the potential to provide a virtually limitless source of clean energy, with no greenhouse gas emissions or long-lived radioactive waste.
