Exercise

In space and astronautical engineering, exercise refers to physical activity performed by astronauts to maintain their physical health and prevent muscle and bone loss during extended periods of weightlessness. Exercise equipment on spacecraft includes treadmills, stationary bicycles, and resistance machines. Astronauts typically exercise for two hours per day, six days per week, and their exercise routines are tailored to their individual needs and fitness levels. In addition to maintaining physical health, exercise has been shown to have positive effects on mental health and cognitive function in space.
