Emergency Evacuation

Emergency evacuation is the immediate and urgent movement of people away from the threat or actual occurrence of a hazard. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, emergency evacuation refers to the procedures and protocols put in place to ensure the safe and efficient evacuation of astronauts and other personnel from a spacecraft or space station in the event of an emergency, such as a fire, a breach in the hull, or a medical emergency. Emergency evacuation plans must take into account the unique challenges of space, such as microgravity, limited space, and the need for specialized equipment and training. These plans may include procedures for rapid depressurization, emergency suit donning, and emergency vehicle egress. The goal of emergency evacuation is to ensure the safety and survival of all personnel involved in a space mission.
