Coolant Flow Regulation
Coolant flow regulation refers to the process of controlling the flow rate of coolant in a spacecraft's thermal control system. The thermal control system is responsible for maintaining a stable temperature range for the spacecraft's components and systems. The coolant, typically a liquid such as water or ethylene glycol, is circulated through the spacecraft's heat exchangers to absorb excess heat and then dissipate it into space. The flow rate of the coolant must be regulated to ensure that the temperature remains within the desired range. This is achieved through the use of flow control valves and pumps that adjust the flow rate based on temperature sensors located throughout the spacecraft. Proper coolant flow regulation is critical for the safe and efficient operation of a spacecraft.
