Cell Wall

In space and astronautical engineering, the cell wall refers to the outermost layer of a spacecraft or satellite that protects the internal components from the harsh environment of space. The cell wall is designed to withstand extreme temperatures, radiation, micrometeoroids, and other hazards that can damage or destroy the spacecraft. It is typically made of lightweight, high-strength materials such as composites, ceramics, or metals, and may include multiple layers for added protection. The cell wall also serves as a barrier to prevent contamination of other celestial bodies, such as planets or moons, with Earth-based microorganisms that may be carried on the spacecraft.
