Carbon Capture And Storage

Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is a process that involves capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from industrial processes, power generation, and other sources, and then transporting and storing them in underground geological formations. The process involves three main steps: capture, transportation, and storage. The captured CO2 is compressed and transported via pipelines or ships to a storage site, where it is injected into deep underground rock formations, such as depleted oil and gas reservoirs, saline formations, or unmineable coal seams. CCS is considered a key technology for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating climate change, as it allows for the continued use of fossil fuels while reducing their carbon footprint.
