Atmospheric Flight

Atmospheric flight refers to the flight of an aircraft within the Earth's atmosphere. It is the process by which an aircraft or spacecraft, propelled by the force of engine thrust, moves through the air or space, counteracting the forces of gravity and drag. The principles of atmospheric flight are governed by the laws of physics, particularly Newton's laws of motion and the Bernoulli's principle. The design and construction of aircraft are heavily influenced by these principles. The aircraft must be designed to withstand the stresses of flight; the structure must be light yet strong enough to withstand the forces of lift and drag. The engine must provide enough thrust to overcome the drag and lift the aircraft off the ground. The control systems must allow the pilot to maneuver the aircraft in three dimensions. The study of atmospheric flight involves understanding the interaction of these forces and how they can be manipulated to achieve controlled flight.
