Drag


In space and astronautical engineering, drag is the force that opposes the motion of an object through a fluid (such as air or liquid) or a gas (such as the atmosphere). In space, drag is caused by the residual atmosphere, solar wind, and other particles that interact with spacecraft. Drag can cause a decrease in the velocity of a spacecraft, which can affect its trajectory and mission objectives.
