Trilateration
Trilateration is a technique used in space and astronautical engineering to determine the position of a spacecraft or satellite by measuring the distance between it and three or more known points. This is done by measuring the time it takes for a signal to travel from the spacecraft to each of the known points, and using this information to calculate the spacecraft's position. Trilateration is commonly used in satellite navigation systems such as GPS, as well as in spacecraft tracking and orbit determination. It is also used in the design and testing of spacecraft communication systems, as well as in the analysis of data from space-based instruments.
