Surveying

Surveying is the process of measuring and mapping the physical and spatial characteristics of the Earth and other celestial bodies. In space and astronautical engineering, surveying is used to gather data about the topography, geology, and other features of planets, moons, asteroids, and other celestial bodies. This data is used to plan and execute missions, design spacecraft and landers, and analyze the results of scientific experiments. Surveying techniques used in space and astronautical engineering include remote sensing, laser altimetry, radar imaging, and photogrammetry.
