Stirling Cycle
Stirling Cycle is a thermodynamic cycle that operates on a closed regenerative gas system. It is a heat engine that uses a fixed mass of gas that is cyclically heated and cooled by two heat reservoirs. The Stirling Cycle consists of four processes: heating at constant volume, cooling at constant volume, heating at constant pressure, and cooling at constant pressure. The cycle is highly efficient and can be used in space and astronautical engineering applications, such as power generation for spacecraft and space stations. The Stirling Cycle is also used in cryocoolers, which are used to cool infrared sensors and other electronic components in space applications.
