Software Redundancy


Software redundancy is a technique used in space and astronautical engineering to increase the reliability of software systems. It involves duplicating critical software components and running them in parallel, so that if one component fails, the other can take over seamlessly. This technique is particularly important in space missions, where software failures can have catastrophic consequences. Software redundancy can be implemented at different levels, from hardware redundancy (using multiple processors or computers) to algorithmic redundancy (using multiple algorithms to perform the same task).
