Signal Amplification

Signal amplification is the process of increasing the strength of a signal without changing its essential characteristics. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, signal amplification is a critical component of communication systems used to transmit and receive data between spacecraft and ground stations. Amplifiers are used to boost the strength of signals that have weakened over long distances or have been attenuated by atmospheric interference. Signal amplification is also used in scientific instruments to increase the sensitivity of sensors that detect faint signals from distant objects in space. The amplification process can introduce noise and distortion into the signal, so careful design and calibration are necessary to ensure that the amplified signal remains accurate and reliable.
