Seismometer
A seismometer is an instrument used to measure and record ground motion, including seismic waves generated by earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and other seismic sources. In space and astronautical engineering, seismometers are used to study the internal structure and seismic activity of planets, moons, and asteroids. Seismometers can be deployed on the surface of a celestial body or placed in orbit around it. They can detect and measure different types of seismic waves, such as P-waves and S-waves, which can provide information about the composition, density, and temperature of the interior of a celestial body. Seismometers can also be used to study the impact of meteorites and other space debris on the surface of a celestial body.
