Rigid Body
In space and astronautical engineering, a rigid body is an object that maintains its shape and size even when subjected to external forces. A rigid body can rotate and translate, but the distance between any two points on the body remains constant. Rigid body dynamics is the study of the motion of rigid bodies, taking into account the forces and torques acting on them. This is important in spacecraft design, where the behavior of the spacecraft under various external forces must be understood and predicted. Rigid body dynamics is also used in the design of attitude control systems, which are responsible for maintaining the orientation of a spacecraft in space.
