Refrigeration System

A refrigeration system is a thermal system that transfers heat from a low-temperature region to a high-temperature region by using mechanical work. In space and astronautical engineering, refrigeration systems are used to maintain the temperature of spacecraft and their payloads within acceptable limits. These systems are critical for the success of space missions as extreme temperatures can damage sensitive equipment and materials. The most common type of refrigeration system used in space is the vapor-compression refrigeration system, which uses a compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator to transfer heat. Other types of refrigeration systems used in space include thermoelectric coolers and Stirling cycle coolers.
