Nanometer
A nanometer is a unit of measurement equal to one billionth of a meter. In space and astronautical engineering, nanometers are often used to measure the size of particles and structures at the nanoscale level. Nanotechnology, which involves the manipulation of matter at the nanoscale level, has numerous applications in space and astronautical engineering, including the development of lightweight and strong materials, advanced sensors and electronics, and new propulsion systems. The study of nanoscale materials and structures is also important for understanding the behavior of materials in extreme environments, such as those encountered in space.
