Radians


Radians are a unit of measurement for angles, commonly used in space and astronautical engineering. One radian is defined as the angle subtended at the center of a circle by an arc that is equal in length to the radius of the circle. Radians are preferred over degrees in many engineering applications because they simplify mathematical calculations involving trigonometric functions. In space and astronautical engineering, radians are used to calculate the position and velocity of spacecraft, as well as the orientation of antennas and solar panels. They are also used in the design and analysis of propulsion systems, such as rocket engines and thrusters.
