Protective Equipment
Protective equipment refers to the specialized gear and devices designed to protect astronauts and their equipment from the harsh environment of space. This includes spacesuits, helmets, gloves, boots, and other equipment that provide life support, thermal control, and radiation protection. Protective equipment is essential for spacewalks, extravehicular activities, and other tasks that require astronauts to work outside the spacecraft. Spacesuits are designed to provide a pressurized environment for the astronaut, while also protecting them from extreme temperatures, micrometeoroids, and other hazards. Helmets and visors protect the astronaut's head and eyes from radiation and debris, while gloves and boots provide dexterity and traction. Protective equipment is also used to protect spacecraft and equipment from the harsh space environment, including thermal blankets, radiation shields, and other specialized materials.
