Plasma Thrusters


Plasma thrusters are a type of electric propulsion system that use plasma as a propellant. They work by ionizing a gas, usually xenon, and accelerating the resulting plasma using an electric field. The plasma is then expelled out of the thruster at high speeds, generating thrust. Plasma thrusters are highly efficient and can provide much higher specific impulse than traditional chemical rockets, making them ideal for long-duration space missions. They are commonly used in satellites and deep space probes.
