Nuclear Reactor
A nuclear reactor is a device that initiates and controls a sustained nuclear chain reaction. It is used for generating electricity, propelling ships, and for research purposes. The reactor uses nuclear fuel, typically uranium-235 or plutonium-239, which undergoes fission and releases energy in the form of heat. This heat is then used to produce steam, which drives a turbine to generate electricity. The reactor is surrounded by a thick shield to protect the environment from radiation.
