Nuclear Fission Reactor

A nuclear fission reactor is a device that harnesses the energy released during the splitting of atomic nuclei to generate electricity. The reactor core contains fuel rods made of radioactive material, such as uranium-235, which undergoes fission when bombarded by neutrons. This process releases a tremendous amount of heat, which is used to produce steam that drives a turbine and generates electricity. The reactor is controlled by inserting or removing control rods made of materials that absorb neutrons, which regulate the rate of fission and prevent the reactor from overheating. Nuclear fission reactors are used to power spacecraft, submarines, and generate electricity on Earth.
