MOSFETs

MOSFETs (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors) are electronic devices used in space and astronautical engineering to control and amplify electrical signals. They are made up of a metal gate, an oxide insulating layer, and a semiconductor channel. MOSFETs are commonly used in power electronics, such as in DC-DC converters and motor control circuits, due to their high switching speed, low power consumption, and ability to handle high voltages and currents. In space applications, MOSFETs are used in satellite power systems, solar arrays, and battery charging circuits. They are also used in radiation-hardened designs to withstand the harsh space environment, including ionizing radiation and extreme temperatures.
