Load Balancing

Load balancing is the process of distributing network traffic across multiple servers to ensure no single server is overwhelmed with traffic. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, load balancing is used to distribute the workload across multiple spacecraft or satellites to ensure that no single spacecraft or satellite is overloaded with tasks. This is particularly important in large constellations of satellites, where each satellite may have a specific function or task to perform. Load balancing can also be used to ensure that data is transmitted efficiently between spacecraft and ground stations, by distributing the data across multiple channels or frequencies.
