Kapton

Kapton is a polyimide film developed by DuPont that is known for its excellent thermal and electrical properties. It is commonly used in the space and astronautical engineering industry due to its ability to withstand extreme temperatures and radiation exposure. Kapton is used in a variety of applications including insulation for electrical wires and cables, thermal blankets for spacecraft, and as a substrate for flexible circuits. Its high strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to chemicals and abrasion make it an ideal material for use in harsh environments. Kapton has been used in numerous space missions including the Mars Rover and the Hubble Space Telescope.
