Interception

Interception is the act of stopping or diverting a moving object in space. In space and astronautical engineering, interception is often used to refer to the process of intercepting or destroying incoming missiles or other space objects that pose a threat to spacecraft or other assets in orbit. Interception can be achieved through a variety of means, including using kinetic energy weapons, lasers, or other directed energy weapons. Interception is a critical capability for space-based defense systems, as it allows for the protection of valuable assets in orbit and can help to prevent the escalation of conflicts into space.
