Indoor Air Pollutants
Indoor air pollutants are harmful substances that exist in the air inside buildings and can cause negative health effects on occupants. These pollutants can come from a variety of sources, including building materials, cleaning products, tobacco smoke, and outdoor air pollution that enters the building. Common indoor air pollutants include carbon monoxide, radon, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), particulate matter, and biological pollutants such as mold and bacteria. Exposure to these pollutants can cause a range of health problems, including respiratory issues, headaches, dizziness, and fatigue. To mitigate the negative effects of indoor air pollutants, proper ventilation and air filtration systems should be in place, and building materials and cleaning products should be carefully selected to minimize the release of harmful substances.
