Heat Management

Heat management is the process of controlling and maintaining the temperature of spacecraft and their components in the harsh environment of space. This involves designing and implementing systems that can dissipate or retain heat as needed, to prevent damage to sensitive equipment and ensure optimal performance. Heat management is critical for the success of any space mission, as extreme temperatures can cause malfunctions or even complete failure of spacecraft systems. There are various methods used for heat management, including passive and active cooling systems, thermal insulation, and heat pipes. Passive cooling systems rely on materials with high thermal conductivity to dissipate heat, while active cooling systems use pumps or other mechanisms to circulate coolant and remove excess heat. Thermal insulation is used to prevent heat from entering or leaving the spacecraft, while heat pipes transfer heat from one location to another. Effective heat management is essential for the safety and success of space missions.
